To protect the computers, electronic standing desks, peripherals, and other equipment in the lab, food and beverages are not permitted in the computer lab.
Students should finish all food and drinks before entering the classroom. This includes water bottles, coffee, energy drinks, pop, and other beverages.
Food or beverages may only be present when specifically authorized by the teacher for a school-related activity or when required as an approved accommodation.
Spills can damage computers, keyboards, electrical components, and the electronic mechanisms in the standing desks. Students are expected to help protect the equipment by keeping all food and beverages outside the lab.
Computer and Lab Equipment
District technology is provided for school-related educational purposes. Students must follow the District Acceptable Use Agreement, school rules, and all directions given by the teacher.
Because this classroom contains computers, electronic standing desks, peripherals, networking equipment, and other technology, students are expected to use all equipment responsibly and carefully.
Mr. Carl’s Computer Lab Rules
Use computers, software, internet access, and other technology only for assigned or approved educational activities.
Do not install, download, remove, or modify software, applications, browser extensions, or system files unless specifically authorized.
Do not change computer, network, security, display, accessibility, or other system settings unless directed by the teacher.
Do not attempt to bypass security restrictions, filters, passwords, or other technology protections.
Do not access another student’s account, files, or work without permission.
Keep food and beverages away from all computers, electronic desks, and other lab equipment.
Use computers, monitors, keyboards, mice, electronic standing desks, chairs, and other equipment as intended. Do not intentionally damage, misuse, disconnect, relocate, or tamper with equipment.
Report damaged, malfunctioning, or unsafe equipment to the teacher immediately. Do not attempt repairs unless directed to do so.
Keep the work area clean and organized, including cables, peripherals, and classroom materials.
Respect the privacy, work, accounts, and digital property of others.
Follow teacher directions regarding when and how technology may be used.
Respect yourself, respect others, and respect the equipment.
