Career and Technical Education (CTE) Course Description

Get familiar with the concepts and tools of computer science as you learn a subset of the Java programming language.  You'll do hands-on work to design, write, and test computer programs that solve problems or accomplish tasks.

Students will have the opportunity to showcase their accomplishments by participating in Business Professionals of America (BPA) Competitions.  It is a “hand-on” class and much of the work is completed independently.

• Unit 03:  Boolean Expressions and If Statements

• Unit 04:  Iteration

• Unit 05:  Writing Classes

• Unit 06:  Array

• Unit 07:  ArrayList

• Unit 08:  2D Array

• Unit 09:  Inheritance

• Unit 10:  Recursion

Course Prerequisites

• Algebra I

• Good Work Ethic

• Java and Databases suggested, but not required
